Enrolling children in kindergartens and schools: results of the 1 June to 10 July intake
Between 1 June and 10 July, 74 families came to us about placing their children. Here is the result in numbers.

Intake ran at the absorption department on Avgura Street, Sunday to Thursday from 08:30 to 15:00. Half of the families arrived in Ashkelon in the spring, and most had school documents only in the language of their country of origin.
Places in municipal kindergartens were arranged for 58 children aged 3 to 6, and 31 children were enrolled in schools, 12 of them in classes with Russian-language support. The average time from submitting documents to confirming a place was 6 days.
In August we keep the same schedule and also advise on the evaluation of school certificates and on ulpan registration for teenagers.
The outcome
Every child whose documents were submitted by 30 June has a place for the start of the school year. Seven families are waiting for a decision on a transfer between districts.
