A goal in their memory: a football tournament was held in Ashkelon in memory of those who fell in the "Iron Swords" war.
On Sunday, August 30, the annual football tournament took place between teenagers from the Ethiopian community and police officers from the Ashkelon station.
This year, the tournament was dedicated to the memory of five residents of the city who fell in the "Iron Swords" war: Police Lieutenant Colonel Avi Amara, Sergeant Maru Alem, Sergeant Avraham Obgayn, Lieutenant Shai Aili, and Sergeant Shahar Manouba.
The goal of the tournament is to strengthen the connection, dialogue, and trust between the youth and the police. The main message of the event is "Zero tolerance for violence."
In recent years, the tournament has also become a memory project dedicated to preserving the legacy of the fallen and promoting the values of unity, tolerance, leadership, resilience, and hope.
The event took place with the participation of the sports and youth departments of the Ashkelon municipality, the Ashkelon police, the Public Security Authority, youth centers, and youth movements.
