On 5 July three of the studio's groups presented six pieces on the stage next to the amphitheatre. Below are the numbers and the parts that did not go as rehearsed.
- 48
- dancers on stage
- 6
- pieces in the programme
- 9
- weeks of rehearsals
- 3
- age groups
48 dancers took the stage: the youngest group aged 6 to 9, the middle group and the adult group. We prepared the programme for nine weeks, with extra Saturday rehearsals on top of the regular schedule.
The running order had to be changed on the spot because the previous block ran late, so the youngest group danced last, close to 21:00. Next time we will ask for a fixed slot and a separate changing room.
Costumes for the folk section were sewn by the parents, the fabric was bought together. Photographs from the evening were passed to the community centre, prints can be collected at the reception.
The outcome
All three groups performed the programme without substitutions, and the youngest group went on a city stage for the first time without losing the count. For the autumn we are starting work on two new contemporary pieces.
