On 5 July the warehouse at 6 HaMelacha Street was open all day without appointments. 43 families who arrived in the past twelve months came.
- 43
- families at the intake
- 26
- requests for furniture and appliances
- 31
- documents for translation
- 9
- volunteers on duty
Of the 26 requests, 18 were for beds and mattresses, six for a fridge or a washing machine, and two for a desk for a school child. Five items were not in our stock and were bought from the fund budget, 4,100 shekels in total.
We took in 31 documents for translation: diplomas, marriage and birth certificates, and records of work experience. Translation and certification are covered by the fund, collection at the warehouse.
Separately, 12 people signed up for accompaniment to public offices. Most often they asked for Bituach Leumi and an appointment with a family doctor.
The outcome
Furniture for all 26 requests was delivered by 24 July, translations were handed back after eight days, and the escort queue is scheduled two weeks ahead.
